US-based leading Life Insurance and Annuities Company partners with HCL for new product launch support
A leading provider of Life Insurance and Annuities in the US, with a comprehensive suite of individual insurance products, including Annuities, Life Insurance and Long Term Care solutions, partners with HCL for new product launch support. The client is part of a large global financial services organization that ranks high on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's largest corporations.
HCL’s in-depth understanding and experience in the Annuities domain, enhanced by consistent and excellent performance over three years in developing business and IT solutions for the client helped seal the partnership.
The client is launching a new Variable Annuity product in September 2010, with innovative features and benefits around hedging of investment volatility and a fee-based distribution model. While the HCL IT team will handle the implementation of the product and related business processes on the core IT systems of the client, HCL BPO Business Services will blueprint the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) applicable to the product. To this end HCL has innovatively developed a relevant template (which is also reusable), based on which HCL will ensure constant update on the new and revised functionalities of the new product.
These SOPs are currently being used by other groups in the client company dedicated to Product Training for Distributors, Underwriters, and Customer Service personnel etc.
US-based Fortune 500 company partners with HCL to migrate process models
A US-based Fortune 500 financial services company offering banking, investing, and insurance services primarily to service personnel and their families, has partnered with HCL to usher comprehensive enterprise transformation into the organization. HCL is contracted to migrate the client's process models covering over 2000 process across 26 business functions.
This partnership aims to leverage HCL’s state-of-the-art technological and domain-related advancements in the BFSI arena, with the objective of enhancing customer experience and streamlining the complicated, multi-stream process flow.
A crucial component of this initiative is to move the financial institution’s blueprint, process models and work-flow related graphical representations from the traditional medium to the new, user-friendly and multi-layered documentation medium. This would enable fast access and effective knowledge sharing at macro and micro levels, through intrinsic slicing and dicing of available data, paving the way for bringing about the much needed process improvements.
HCL’s strong presence and proven track record in the financial services domain, documentation and knowledge management services, coupled with the long standing relationship that HCL shares with the client in executing many successful Enterprise Transformation Services (ETS) projects, resulted in the client selecting HCL yet again for the Enterprise Process Library (EPL) Refresh project. HCL’s proven solutions and delivery ecosystem coupled with a customer-friendly innovative pricing and engagement model were other factors that facilitated the expansion of this relationship.
HCL Technologies Collaborates with Daon to Provide Comprehensive Identity Assurance Solutions
HCL has formed a strategic partnership with Daon, a leading provider of biometric identity assurance software, to help aviation, transportation, government and public sector clients solve their identity program challenges through innovative biometric technology solutions.
Daon provides the enabling identity assurance technology wherever authentication is required, delivering identification and verification software for managing identities in border management environments, civil identity applications, traveler ID, employee credentialing and access control solutions. Through this partnership, Daon will leverage HCL’s expertise in innovative biometric technology solutions engineering, deployment, training and R&D, to provide joint air travel clients with innovative solutions and service differentiators.

Engineering is increasingly becoming more internationalized and engineering companies are becoming increasingly global. There is an increasing pressure on European companies to reduce costs, which requires more innovative solutions from suppliers in order to keep a stable price level. As per Dataquest research, during the calendar year 2009, out of total Engineering R&D Services revenues, 58% was contributed by third party Indian service providers (HCL Tech, TCS, Wipro) and 40% by captive engineering services units, while the rest 2% by non Indian IT players.
