| HCL Technologies bets on cloud computing |

| HCL Technologies plans to have new technologies such as cloud computing become a nearly $300 million business over the next five years, as part of the company's new initiative to incubate next big opportunities and compete better with multinational rivals apart from larger Indian software firms. |

| “As part of the new initiative, HCL has formed a unit called 'ecosystem and business incubation organization', which has already identified five new ideas with the potential to become $100 million businesses in three years, and almost $300 million in five years,” said Anant Gupta, HCL Technologies' senior corporate vice president and head of the company's growing Infrastructure Services Division (ISD). |

| The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. |

| HCL Tech eyes emerging markets for large Infra deals |

| HCL Technologies is looking at emerging geographies like the West Asia, South Africa, Hong Kong and Singapore for large system integration (SI) deals, valued between $50 million and $100 million (Rs 230-460 crore), in the infrastructure management space. Last year, it had closed five deals, including a seven-year end-to-end engagement with National Insurance Company (NIC), in the infrastructure space in the country’s power and government sectors. |
